The client
A regional team.
A shared place to meet.
Katherine West Health Board is an Aboriginal community controlled health organisation serving communities across the Katherine West region. Its work brings together health professionals, community teams, and support staff across a large regional footprint.
For its Katherine office fit-out, KWHB needed a large training and conference room, alongside smaller meeting and presentation spaces upstairs. AV Projects supplied, installed, and commissioned the audiovisual systems, with final testing and handover completed in June 2026.

The brief
See the content.
Hear the conversation.
A large room needs more than a screen at one end. People seated in different parts of the space need a useful view of shared content, while participants joining a call need the room’s conversation captured clearly.
KWHB’s revised brief called for larger displays and a ceiling microphone array suited to the size of the training room. The design moved to fixed wall-mounted displays, with two 98-inch screens complemented by two 75-inch screens along the side wall.

Audio, video and control
A room system.
Your choice of meeting.
A ceiling microphone array, conference audio processing, wall speakers, and a conferencing camera bring sound and video into the room system. Touch-panel control gives users a central place to operate the AV.
The hybrid BYOD solution supports Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex, and Google Meet. It combines a room PC with the option to connect a user’s own laptop, giving the team flexibility to work with the platform a meeting requires.
These capabilities make the space suitable for staff training, presentations, and discussions with people joining remotely.
Across the fit-out
Different spaces.
A considered fit.
The upstairs small meeting room pairs a 55-inch display with a camera soundbar for laptop-based conferencing. A separate display was also installed in the kitchenette area.
The resulting fit-out combines distributed displays and ceiling microphone audio in the training room with a compact camera soundbar in the smaller space.

Delivery from Darwin
Planned together.
Tested on site.
We coordinated AV cable routes and display positions with the building and electrical contractors before installation. Our team then travelled from Darwin to Katherine to mount the displays, install the microphones, speakers, and camera, and bring the signal paths and controls together.
Commissioning included audio, video, and control-system setup, followed by final testing and an on-site handover. The completed fit-out gives KWHB dedicated spaces for presenting and connecting, with both large-room and smaller-room conferencing options.
