We design, install, program and support AV as one system, and we stand behind all of it.
AV integration is the work of making cameras, microphones, displays, control systems and the network behave as one reliable system in a real room. We design it, supply the hardware, install it, program the control and switching, commission it on site, and support it once you’re live. Audiovisual Projects has been doing this since 1989 – family-founded in Darwin, now working nationally from our Darwin headquarters and offices in Sydney and on the Gold Coast, with technicians and representatives in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
What AV integration actually involves
Plenty of suppliers will sell you equipment. Integration is the harder part – getting every piece to work together, to your standards, in a space people use every day. We take responsibility for the whole chain, so you deal with one team rather than a room full of parts and a stack of manuals.
Design and engineering
We start with how the room needs to work, then document a system that can be built, commissioned and supported.
Supply and procurement
We specify and source the right hardware for the job, not whatever is easiest to move.
Installation
Cabling, mounting, racks and finishing done properly, and coordinated with the other trades on site.
Programming
Control, switching and room logic set up so the technology stays out of the way and the meeting starts on time.
Commissioning
We test and tune every system on site and sign it off against the design, not a checklist from head office.
Support and maintenance
Once you are live we hold spares, monitor remotely where it helps, and stay on call - the same team that built it.
How we work
We keep the process clear. We understand the spaces and who signs them off, agree a single room standard where it makes sense, and coordinate closely with builders, ICT and facilities so nothing gets missed. Then we commission methodically, so handover is not a scramble. On larger jobs we commission floor by floor as construction progresses, which keeps risk down and lets your teams start using finished rooms sooner. Standardised hardware, documented systems and a consistent room standard are what make a set of rooms easy to run and cheaper to support later.

Charles Darwin University, Danala. We delivered a campus-wide AV system across all seven levels of CDU’s Danala precinct in the Darwin CBD, from interactive teaching spaces to a main outdoor LED display. We applied one room standard, commissioned floor by floor as the builder handed over each level, and fitted ceiling microphone arrays in the video-conferencing rooms so hybrid teaching sounds consistent. Canaccord Genuity, 101 Collins Street. For this Melbourne client-engagement suite we built every room to one standard, so staff get the same experience wherever they meet. Arthur Holm motorised displays rise from the table when they are needed and drop away when they are not, speech-driven switching follows whoever is talking, and Zoom and Teams are treated as equals rather than one being the poor cousin. NT Government boat-ramp safety displays. As head contractor, we delivered three P8 outdoor LED boards showing real-time safety messaging at Darwin’s boat ramps. Everything was galvanised and conformal-coated to survive the Top End climate, and the content updates remotely, so the client can change messaging without a site visit.
